New Lowell 13U Team in Bradford
On 11 Aug the New Lowell Knights was in Bradford to face Bradford #2 in Round 1 of the playoffs. New Lowell went onto win 15-9 in a spirited game.
Bradford 2 was up 4-0 after the first inning, New Lowell stormed back to tie the game at 4 in the second. At the end of 3 it was 8-7 for New Lowell. After 35 at bats, 5 innings of play New Lowell found themselves 15-9 victors in what was a very close game with several good defensive plays. Both teams featured strong pitching. New Lowell had two pitchers combine for the win. The last out was made by New Lowell's shortstop with a one handed catch to secure the game for the blue shirts. There were 6 players for New Lowell that scored 2 runs to assist with facilitating the win.
Both teams had to endure a power outage on the diamond in the middle of the second inning when the lights went out. The game got restarted after a 16 min delay when the teams moved to another diamond that had power to the lights. The delay meant the game did not finish until 10:15 pm but both teams endured the hurdle dealt to them very well.
