New Lowell 9U Select at Baseball Ontario's Championships
New Lowell Knight's 9U Select Team attended provincials in Sault Ste. Marie over the Labour Day weekend.
The team got play underway on Friday 1 September with New Lowell defeating Valley East 16 - 9. Play resumed on Saturday with the Knights scheduled to play three games on Saturday with New Lowell winning 14 - 11 over Midland in a close contested game. Then the Knights played Halton Hills who played the New Lowell team tough while winning 11 - 4. The Knights played Barrie who gave the team their second loss with a 15 - 4 score.
The team came up a little short but gained a tremendous amount of experience as this was the players first provincials. The team represented themselves and the village of New Lowell in an exemplary manner. Spencer of the New Lowell team received the opening ceremonial pitch from the Mayor of Sault Ste. Marie, Matthew Shoemaker. Sault Ste. Marie 9U Select Team won the championship.
